This recipe is so easy, you will think it was boxed, but once you take a bite, you’ll know it’s not boxed… it’s too good!
This is also great to use for your Cornbread Stuffing (or Dressing) recipe.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup unsifted flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup milk
1/4 cup corn oil
INSTRUCTIONS
Grease 9” x 9” x 2” baking pan. In large bowl, stir together first 5 ingredients. In small bowl, stir together remaining ingredients. Stir in cornmeal mixture just until moistened. Turn into prepared pan.
Bake in 425 degree oven for 20 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into squares.
Serves 6
