Sugary pralines bring back so many good memories of my mom and my grandmother’s candy making, especially during the holidays. They used a Full-proof and Delicious Louisiana Praline Recipe I want to share with you!

Today’s a rainy day and I’m feeling nostalgic, so thought I’d share my mom’s Louisiana Pralines recipe. (No, we’re not from Louisiana, but Kentucky.)

Louisiana Pralines Recipe - Fool-proof delicious candy recipe everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • About 1 1/2 cups small pecans
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Directions

  • In a sauce pan, cook all ingredients to 234 degrees, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
  • Stir with wooden spoon for 5 to 6 minutes or until mixture begins to lose its gloss and appears slightly granular.
  • Spoon onto a well oiled or buttered pan.
  • If mixture becomes too thick, reheat it very slowly to loosen it up.
